Dominic Woodward as Wacky Woody is a top kids entertainer from Manchester, Woody is well known for warming up the crowds at Media City in Salford for the top CBBC shows. The magic show is aimed at 4 to 8-year-olds and take the children around the world on his travels in a mission to join the Magic Circle, after being set a task to find a magic trick in every continent of the planet by Mr Oliver Oxton from the infamous Magic Circle.

The children were welcomed by the fantastic Comedy Store Club staff as each child lined up excited to enter the auditorium proudly wearing their special entrance bracelet. The children were super excited as they took their seats in the stunning seating area of the Comedy Club, the atmosphere was full of energy and excitement as they waited patiently for Woody to start his World of Magic Show. Woody greeted the children in his bright red top and with a beaming smile soon had the audience participating by getting the children to shout out their names followed by a competition on who could shout the loudest between the girls and boys in the audience.

There were some technical problems with the microphone but it didn’t matter as the audience was intimate enough for Woody to be heard by all. Woody had a fantastic rapport with the children and interacted throughout, it’s clear that he is a very experienced entertainer as he had the children completely engaged in his act.

Woody took the children on a journey to South America, Australia with their slivery scary snakes, spiders and webs. Followed by the Antarctica and the South Pole where the children met ‘chilly willy’ the penguin which was guaranteed to have the children giggling in their seats.

After a short break the children were ready and eager for more of Woody’s World of Magic, very quickly the children were back on their imaginary planes and on their way to Africa and the Sahara desert where he performed his rope trick. Woody invited children to the stage to interact and be a part of his performance which added to the children’s excitement.

The final continent was North America and Canada where Woody introduced Robbie his puppy dog much to the children’s delight as he engaged the children in talking to Robbie and by getting them to guess Robbie’s impressions of other types of dogs. Cheeky Robbie ate all of Woody’s coloured scarves making a rainbow scarf after the magic box did its magic. After returning back to Britain Woody called Mr Oxton to see if he had completed his task and if he was eligible to join the Magic Circle. One more trick was needed this was where my 10 year old co reviewer was chosen to his absolute delight to perform one last trick to enable Woody to join the Magic Circle.

All ends well as Woody is allowed to join, the show is fantastic for children and as for parents there is nothing more heart-warming than to see your little one’s having so much fun. Woody encourage the children to come and say hello after the show again another lovely touch for the youngsters.

My two little co reviewers aged 10 and 8 took the opportunity to ask Woody two questions each as they were eager to meet him and have their questions answered.

Woody greeted the children brilliantly as they asked their questions:

Question – “how long have you been doing magic?”

Answer – “15 years after being inspired by watching an act in the Corn Exchange many years ago”

Question – “did you have a job to do with entertainment before magic and if so what was it?”

Answer – “I was a comedian and before that I worked in McDonald’s”

Question – “how do you do the magic?”

Answer – “it’s magic”

Question – “do you like to magic?”

Answer- “YES”

A thoroughly entertaining afternoon had by all Woody is the perfect choice for any children’s birthday party, christenings, fun days and events. He is available to hire through his website: Wackywoody.co.uk.

I would highly recommend this show for children to see Woody in action.
