The York Orchard Musical Theatre Company was founded in 2014 and RENT will be their fourth production, following the success of Phantom of the Opera and Little Shop of Horrors earlier this year.

RENT is a Rock Opera that tells the story of a group of bohemians living in East Village New York. It focuses on the trials and tribulations of every day life of Mark and Roger - two roommates.
Mark, a love-struck nerd, documents the world around him as he narrates the story. Meanwhile Roger, an aspiring Rock musician, struggles to embrace all of life’s moments. The story follows the pair and their group of friends; Mimi, Collins, Angel, Maureen and Joanne; as they deal with love, loss and AIDS. It is apparent that a lot can happen in 525,600 minutes.
