The great British Summer is officially upon us and what better way to spend a weekend than at a local family festival.
Cheshire Fest returned to Cheadle Hulme today for a two day event which featured three stages and lots of family fun.
This festival is perfect for families; the Kids stage had some fantastic acts on including my personal favourite; a Mary Poppins Tribute Act; yes it is as magical as it sounds, made even better by the addition of bringing the little ones on the stage to learn the dance moves; proving to be a big hit with the young audience and the young at heart.
The Main stage features tribute acts throughout but they pick authentic, great sounding acts that get you singing along, dancing and enjoying the sun. My favourite had to be their opener; Totally Tina - a Tribute act for Tina Turner who not only sounded phenomenal but also danced with so much energy on stage accompanied by her dancers that you couldn’t help but join in. It was infectious!
There was loads to do with the kids too; with funfair rides and sand art to keep them entertained. I had a go at a VR experience which transported me to a Wild West shoot out; the team there were friendly and very professional and a great addition to this event. I can only imagine what I looked like as I was doing it but perhaps not quite as graceful as when I attempted the inflatable assault course on site where you had to weave through inflatable bollards and jumps; highly entertaining and everyone was having a blast.
I decided to fully embrace the festival experience and got myself a VIP pass which gave exclusive access to a comfy viewing area, bars and posh loos which made the whole experience that little bit extra special. It’s fantastic to see the community coming out to support these local events and long may they continue.
Verdict: Hours of fun for all the family!
